Responsibilities

  • Documenting Jhpiego Tanzania humanitarian responses and initiatives through knowledge management tools/platforms and reports
  • Developing and releasing Situation Reports, when necessary
  • In collaboration with our humanitarian partner, RAPID Tanzania, conduct humanitarian partner mapping exercises
  • Setting up meet and greets with strategic partners in the humanitarian space
  • Scan in-country humanitarian landscape and keep country leadership and US teams updated
  • Participate in external humanitarian coordination meetings (i.e., cluster meetings, other coordination mechanisms)
  • Contribute to the disaster needs-assessment process
  • Link with possible humanitarian funding opportunities
  • Participating in disaster management NGO network Tanzania (DINGONET) meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, international affairs, conflict studies, or other applicable sector
  • Familiarity with the cluster system, Sphere Standard, and basic humanitarian principles
  • Willing to acquire new knowledge
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Has bachelor’s degree in social sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in global health, capacity building, and community development.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
