Vacancy Overview
Activating Windows is important for several reasons—both functional and legal

1. Access to Full Features

Without activation, many features are restricted:

  • You can’t personalize your PC (e.g., change wallpaper, themes, colors).

  • Some system settings will be locked.

  • You may not get access to some updates and advanced Windows tools.

🛡️ 2. Security and Updates

Activation ensures you get:

  • Critical security updates from Microsoft.

  • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • Compatibility with newer apps and drivers.

📜 3. It's Legal and Genuine

Activation proves your copy of Windows is:

  • Genuine, not pirated.

  • Licensed, following Microsoft’s terms of use. Unactivated Windows might eventually stop working properly or could be considered illegal in some environments (e.g., schools, businesses).

⚠️ 4. Avoid the Annoying Watermark

You’ll constantly see:

Activate Windows – Go to Settings to activate Windows.
It’s always on the screen, and it can ruin screenshots or presentations.

🔒 5. Prevent Compatibility Issues

Some programs may not run properly on an unactivated system, especially business or school-related apps.

In short:

Activating Windows = Full features, security, peace of mind.

Alright! Let’s get you set up. Activating Windows is pretty straightforward, but the exact steps depend on whether you have a product key or you're signing in with a digital license (linked to your Microsoft account). Let's go through both methods:

Option 1: You Have a Product Key (25-digit code)

Looks like this: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

  1. Go to Settings
Press Windows + I → Click System → Scroll down and click Activation

  2. Click "Change product key"

  3. Enter your 25-digit key → Click Next → Then click Activate

Option 2: You Have a Digital License (Linked to Microsoft Account)

If you've previously activated Windows on this device and signed in with your Microsoft account:

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Account

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Your Info

    • Make sure you're signed in with your Microsoft account

  2. Connect to the internet

  3. Go to Settings > System > Activation

    • If Windows finds a valid license, it’ll activate automatically

    • If not, click Troubleshoot and then “I changed hardware on this device recently” (if applicable)

🛠️ Don’t Have a Key or License?

  • If you don’t have one, you’ll need to buy a license:
